Kibire is a bay species, inhabiting coastal reefs at depths shallower than 50 meters. It is also found in estuarine waters. It is similar to the Blackhead seabream (Kurodai), but can be distinguished from other bream species by its whitish body and the yellowish tips of its ventral, anal, and caudal fins. Kibire is formally known as &#8220;Kichinu&#8221; in Japanese.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At the end of the rainy season, when white fish disappear from the market, this fish is cheap and tasty. Many sushi chefs in the Kanto region are unaware of this fish, but in western Japan, it is one of the most popular summer fish.
