Characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n

Goldlined seabream (Hedai) is distributed along the Japanese coast south of central Honshu Australia and the Indian Ocean. Its total length is about 40 cm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hedai resembles Blackhead seabream (Kurodai). Its body color is silvery white with a pale ventral side and more than a dozen longitudinal yellow stripes on the body. It lives mainly in reef areas, sometimes entering inner bays.<\/span><\/p>\n

It lives slightly offshore, so it is less fishy than Kurodai and has a better taste. Once the skin is removed, there is no difference in appearance, taste, or flavor between Hedai and Red seabream (Madai).<\/span><\/p>\n
