Characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n

Double-lined fusilier (Takasago) is distributed in the warm waters of southern Japan and the western Pacific Ocean. They inhabit the middle layer of the outer edge of coral reefs at depths of around 20~50m. Its body length is 25~30 cm. It is a beautiful fish with a reddish ground color and a bluish tint when seen underwater.<\/span><\/p>\n

Takasago is difficult to keep fresh and has a peculiar taste, so they are used as ingredients for fish paste products outside of their region of origin. In Okinawa Prefecture, it is called Gurukun and is highly prized, and was designated as a prefectural fish in 1970. Deep-fried Gurukun is a staple dish in Okinawa. Its flesh has a light flavor and is suitable for sashimi, simmered dishes, and grilled dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n
