Feature:<\/span><\/p>\n

Yellow body rockfish (Yanaginomai) are distributed north of the Tohoku region, the southern Kuril Islands, the northern Japan Sea, and the Okhotsk Sea. It swims in shoals on reefs and sandy muddy bottoms at depths up to 200 m. Its body is oblong and flattened. The body is oblong and laterally flattened. Its body color is light yellow with irregularly shaped cloud-like patches on the sides of the body. Body length is about 30 cm. Mixed with the closely related Willow rockfish (Yanagimebaru).<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a popular side dish fish in Hokkaido, but it loses freshness quickly, and fresh ones are not easily available outside the production area. For this reason, Mebaru family is rarely eaten as sashimi or sushi in the Kanto region. It is mainly served simmered, grilled, deep-fried, steamed, or in soups and various other dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n
