Characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n

Fox jacopever (Kitsunemebaru) is distributed along the coast of the Sea of Japan south of Hokkaido and the Pacific coast to the Boso Peninsula. It inhabits places where there is seaweed growth, such as where it moves from rocky reef areas to sandy areas. Its body length is 20~45 cm. The body is oval and laterally flattened. In the Sanriku region, it is called Mazoi.<\/span><\/p>\n

It looks like a light fish, but it has enough umami to be tasty and chewy, giving it a unique taste. It is suitable and delicious as sashimi, grilled with salt, or boiled.<\/span><\/p>\n
