Characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n

Painted sweetlip (Korodai) is distributed south of central Honshu and in the Indo-West Pacific region. It inhabits coastal reefs and surrounding sandy muddy bottoms. The body length is 30~40 cm. It reaches a maximum length of 70 cm. As they grow, they change color, pattern, and appearance. Adults are blue with small yellowish-brown spots. The season starts in the fall and lasts until early summer of the following year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Korodai are not a member of the Red seabream (Tai) family, but rather of the Chicken grunt (Isaki) family. The family of the Japanese anchovy means that it is a tasty white-fleshed fish. Its white flesh is light, but it has a chewy texture and a hint of sweetness. It is said that juvenile fish are not tasty, but adult fish are delicious and can be made into sashimi, grilled, or simmered. And it is inexpensive.<\/span><\/p>\n
