It inhabits the marginal zone of the continental shelf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As its name suggests, it is characterized by its vermilion body color, and the second dorsal fin has a yellow or peach-colored pattern that varies from species to species. Total length is 25 cm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beniteguri is a member of the same family as Richardson&#8217;s dragonet (Nezumigochi), which is used for tempura. It is delicious as sashimi, grilled with salt, and especially as dried fish. It has a light white flesh with no peculiarities. It is also good to make nigiri sushi with the skin on, as the fat in the skin gives the meat a much more delicious taste.
