In Japan, it can be found in the southern part of Honshu Island and southwards. It inhabits coastal reefs and coral reefs. Its body is long and oval-shaped, and it is flattened on the sides. Adult fish grow to a length of about 70 cm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gomafuedai is a white fish with dark red meat (Chiai). Many of the species in the snapper family are delicious, and they are used in carpaccio, grilled with salt, and simmered dishes. Sashimi is also good, and it also goes well with vinegared rice.
