Koshihikari is characterized by its strong stickiness and sweetness, as well as its wonderful aroma and luster. It is widely cultivated throughout Japan except for Hokkaido and Okinawa, and in 2022, it accounted for 33.4% of the total rice crop, ranking first among all varieties.
