Feature:

Whitemouth Jack (Okiaji) is distributed from central Honshu southward, throughout the Indo-Pacific region, the eastern Pacific, and around St. Helena Island. It inhabits the bottom layer from coastal to offshore areas, often forming small schools, with a body length of 30–40 cm. Its body color is dark brown. It is distinguished from other Aji species by the forward-facing scutes along its ventral edge.

Catches are low, and larger specimens are considered a premium fish. Its peak season is summer to autumn, and it is a very delicious fish.
