Characteristics:
Bluegill originates from southeastern North America. It is found in Japan, central and southern North America, Europe, and South Africa through transplantation. The length of the bluegill is 15~25 cm. In its native habitat, it grows up to 40 cm in length. Body color is mostly purplish blue, becoming yellowish as it grows.
In Japan, they are not edible because they do not grow large. Overseas, they are grilled, fried, or made into meuniere.
