Characteristics:

Longwing searobin (Togekanagasira) is distributed from southern Japan to the South China Sea and Indonesia. It inhabits sandy muddy bottom around 90~120m depth in coastal waters. Its body length is 20 cm. It has a large, long, oval-shaped, blackish patch on the lower inside of the pectoral fins.

Togekanagasira is a white-fleshed fish that is delicious in hot pot or miso soup with a good broth. It is also used to make sashimi, tempura, salted and grilled fish, dried fish, and kamaboko.
