Characteristics:

Blotched mackerel or Queensland school mackerel is distributed in inshore coastal waters of southern Papua New Guinea and northern and eastern Australia, Western Australia. It inhabits the coastal surface layer in schools. The total length is about 1 m. It is most frequently caught in February and December.

It is a species of Sawara, imported from Australia as fresh fish, etc. For some reason, it does not have a Japanese name, so the English name seems to be pronounced as it is in Japanese.
