Feature:
Silver croaker (Ishimochi) is distributed in the Tohoku region and southward, the East China Sea, and the Indo-West Pacific region. It mainly inhabits sandy muddy bottoms at depths of 20~140m. Its body is oblong-oval in shape. The body length is 20~40cm. Its body color is silvery white with an indistinct black crest on the upper part of the gill cover. It is called Ishimochi (Ishi means stone and mochi means have) because of the large otoliths on its head. Officially, it is called Shiroguchi. The season is summer.
