Characteristics:

Grub fish (Kurakaketoragisu) are distributed south of Chiba Prefecture on the Pacific Ocean side, south of Niigata Prefecture on the Sea of Japan side, the coast of the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan, and southern Java Island. It inhabits sandy bottoms in shallow waters from the coast to the continental shelf. Its body length is 20 cm.

Mainly used as raw material for kamaboko, grilled in salt or boiled.
