What is Masunosuke?
The Japanese “Masunosuke,” refers to King salmon. This is the largest of salmon with an especially high fat content and it is definitely the king of salmon when it comes to taste as well. There are only a few available for fishing along the coast of Hokkaido, etc. and they are extremely expensive. The peak season is from spring to early summer.
