Rockfish (Mebaru)

Japan has more than 40 species of rockfish and more than 120 species worldwide. The three species of rockfish, "Akamebaru," "Kuromebaru," and "Shiromebaru," are collectively referred to as "mebaru," but they were traditionally considered to be one species.

In the Toyosu market, Brown rockfish (Kuromebaru), which are black, are called Black Mebaru, and Goldeye rockfish (Usumebaru), which are red, are called Mebaru. There are already links for some species, so please check them out.
